ESS Client Hudson Transmission Partners Closes Financing and Commences Construction of 660MW Transmission ProjectMay 31, 2011 – Wellesley, Massachusetts – ESS Group, Inc. is pleased to announce that its client, Hudson Transmission Partners, LLC, has closed financing totaling more than $850 million in debt and equity for construction of The Hudson Transmission Project. In addition, Hudson Transmission Partners has issued a Notice to Proceed to its principal contractors, Siemens Power Transmission and Distribution, Inc. and Prysmian Cables and Systems USA, LLC. ESS has provided environmental consulting and engineering services for The Hudson Transmission Project, including environmental impact studies and regulatory permitting support. The project will be capable of delivering up to 660 megawatts of new electric power supply via a High Voltage Direct Current (HVDC) Back-to-Back (BtB) electric transmission facility in New Jersey, which will link the PJM Interconnection with the New York Independent System Operator (NYISO). The project also includes nearly eight miles of buried transmission cable, approximately four miles of which will be installed beneath the Hudson River. “ESS is pleased to celebrate this project milestone with Hudson Transmission Partners.
