Vice President Carl Nielsen Interviewed on Success of Lake Management Project February 11, 2010 – East Providence, Rhode Island – ESS Group, Inc. Vice President and Certified Lake Manager Carl Nielsen was recently interviewed by the Sturbridge Villager about the success of a long-term invasive weed management program developed for the Quaboag and Quacumquasit Lake Association (QQLA). The lake management program involved a two-phase pilot study including laboratory and field trials of various aquatic plant control treatments.
Nielsen stated, “ESS applauds QQLA for taking on the challenge and the volunteers for implementing this kind of lake management program. The success of this program could serve as a pilot for other non-profit lake associations. ESS was able to provide a professional plan that jumpstarted the QQLA project, which now provides a low-cost, self sustaining approach to lake management.” View the full article from the Sturbridge Villager or visit the ESS website learn more about ESS Water Resource Management & Ecological Services. |
