ESS Classified as Small Business by US Small Business Administration

March 16, 2012 – Waltham, Massachusetts – As of March 12, 2012, ESS Group, Inc. is now classified as a small business in accordance with the size standards established by the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) for all of our principal NAICS Codes  - Environmental Consulting, Engineering Services, and Remediation Services (NAICS 541620, 541330, and 562910).

In keeping with the mandate of Section 15(g) of the Small Business Act, SBA's Office of Government Contracting sets goals with other federal departments and agencies to reach the statutory goal of 23% in prime contract dollars to small businesses.

The SBA is responsible for the management and oversight of the small business procurement process across the Federal Government. SBA negotiates with Federal departments concerning their prime contracting goals and achievement with small businesses to ensure that small businesses have the maximum practicable opportunity to provide goods and services to the Federal Government.

"This small business classification will allow us to compete more effectively in the federal marketplace both by pursuing small business set-aside contracts and in supporting larger firms seeking to satisfy small business subcontracting goals," stated Director of Business Development Bob Erickson.
