ESS Continues Works on Cape Wind Project

ESS is pleased to announce that it has been awarded its second major environmental consulting and engineering services contract with Cape Wind Associates, LLC for the Cape Wind Project in Nantucket Sound, Massachusetts. Under this contract, ESS will provide multi-year environmental compliance and monitoring services to assist Cape Wind. ESS's work will begin in July 2012 with pre-construction geotechnical and geophysical surveys. ESS will also serve as Cape Wind's environmental compliance coordinator for project construction activities.

Bayonne Energy Center Begins Commercial Operation

ESS congratulates Bayonne Energy Center, LLC (BEC) on commencing commercial operations in June. BEC is a 512 MW power plant that provides electricity to New York City via a 6.5 mile, 345 kV AC submarine electric transmission cable, which crosses Gowanus Bay and Upper New York Bay. Due to its use of natural gas and advanced emissions controls, BEC represents one of the most efficient energy facilities of its kind in the New Jersey / New York area - its emissions will be considerably lower than those of the area's existing generators.
