The meeting featured a speech by the Department of Energy Resources Commissioner Mark Sylvia entitled "Surge Protector: Massachusetts Investing $40 Million to Harden Energy Services; Responds to Hurricanes, Deep Freeze, and Sea Level Rise".

REBA Luncheon

Practice Leader and Real Estate Bar Association (REBA) for MA member Bill Chapman attended this forum, a discussion of the U.S. Department of Treasury's Community Development Financial Institution's (CDFI) new $100 million Bond Guarantee Program. The CDFI has approved the bonds to be given to a partnership that includes Enterprise Community Loan Fund (Enterprise), Local Initiatives Support Corporation (LISC) and Bank of America. Enterprise and LISC will each use $50 million in proceeds to support affordable housing and other commercial development projects.
