Our site investigation strategy is to develop a practical, risk-based approach with a final solution in mind. ESS project managers also serve as client advocates. Using their extensive knowledge of state and federal regulations, they develop regulatory strategies that comply with applicable guidelines while also advancing client-specific business objectives. We provide comprehensive sampling, contaminant fate and transport modeling, assessment, and technical reporting for evaluating impacts to soil, water, sediments, and air resources.
REMEDIATION
Our staff has extensive experience in the design and implementation of remedial technologies. For sites where risk considerations require remedial action, ESS is able to recommend and implement a wide range of approaches. From conventional removal and offsite disposal to innovative in-situ treatment systems, we are able to comprehensively address soils, water, sediments, and air remediation needs.
RISK ASSESSMENT
ESS provides comprehensive human health and environmental risk assessment services. These include development of remedial goals and land-use and activity limitation options in accordance with applicable state and federal regulatory program requirements. ESS has developed and successfully implemented hundreds of Risk-Based Corrective Actions (RBCA) for residential properties, industrial sites, recreational facilities, and educational institutions.
SUPERFUND & BROWNFIELDS
ESS is experienced in Superfund site management and brownfields redevelopment. For the past three years, we have provided project management, technical direction, and remediation system staffing for a 90-acre Superfund site. ESS has also led environmental permitting for numerous brownfields redevelopment projects, including several community development corporation projects in eastern Massachusetts, and the redevelopment of historic mill properties in Rhode Island.
