Hull Municipal Light Plant Hull #2
Wind Generation Project Hull, Massachusetts

ESS Group, Inc. is assisting the Town of Hull in the development of a wind generation project comprised of one offshore and one onshore wind turbine, with the potential to add up to three additional offshore turbines in the future. All turbines are assumed to be 3.6 MW capacity units at this time. The offshore turbine(s) are proposed to interconnect with the Hull and New England electricity grids along the eastern shoreline of Hull.

ESS is providing environmental consulting, regulatory permitting, site selection, and engineering services to the Hull Municipal Light Plant (HMLP) for the proposed Hull #2 Wind Generation Project in Hull, Massachusetts.

ESS will be developing a regulatory strategy with HMLP to address the necessary approvals. In addition, ESS will prepare topographic and property line surveys, permit level engineering design, and field studies to support necessary application. It is anticipated that approvals will be required from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) under Section 404 of the Federal Clean Water Act and the Rivers & Harbors Act of 1899 (Section 10), Federal Aviation Administration, Massachusetts Environmental Policy Act (MEPA), Coastal Zone Management, Chapter 91 Waterways Licensing, and the Massachusetts Wetland Protection Act.

HMLP also intends to develop a desalination plant that would be powered by wind energy supplied by the project. ESS will be assisting HMLP with design and permitting related to the desalination plant.
