Terrestrial Ecology & Wildlife Habitat Evaluations

ESS Group, Inc. has experience in conducting marine, aquatic, and terrestrial habitat evaluations and ecological inventories. Our staff has extensive experience in the identification and taxonomy of fauna and flora within northeast and Mid-Atlantic States and the Caribbean. Our staff includes biologists, ecologists, and scientists with advanced degrees in aquatic ecology, botany, fisheries, ornithology, herpetology, wildlife ecology, zoology, and invertebrate zoology. We have conducted numerous field investigations, surveys, restoration studies, and taxonomic evaluations. The identification of plants, fish, wildlife, and benthic infauna has been an integral in supporting most of our projects.

Site specific field surveys of flora and fauna require an understanding of the growing season, flowering period, breeding/nesting season, migratory behavior and habitat requisites of each species targeted by the survey. Identifying target species, seasonal attributes, and specific habitat requirements allows the field investigations and surveys to be implemented in the most cost-effective manner.
